Call for Proposals

Dear Fellow Educators:

The South Carolina Educators for the Practical Use of Research (SCEPUR) is the state affiliate for American Educational Research Association (AERA). For thirty-one years, SCEPUR has promoted effective educational practices by providing an annual forum for area educators to exchange ideas about issues related to education and assessment. This year is no exception in our providing an opportunity to discuss key issues and share research findings that can inform education efforts throughout SC.

This year’s conference theme is Leveraging Education Research. Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Elizabeth Farley-Ripple from the University of Delaware. Dr. Farley-Ripple serves as co-principal investigator of the National Center for Research Use in Education, Rethinking Research for Success (R4S), funded by the Institute for Education Sciences. Dr. Farley-Ripple will share information about the work of R4S and engage the audience in conversation about the Center’s resources.

We encourage you to participate in the annual conference. You are invited to submit proposals for four types of sessions: (1) Paper presentation; (2) Symposium/panel (organized by the applicant); (3) Workshop; or (4) Poster presentation. Submit proposals to scepur.org@gmail.com by Friday, November 30, 2018 along with a completed application form (page 4 of this document). We look forward to seeing you on Friday, March 1, 2019 for the 31st annual SCEPUR conference.

Sincerely yours,

Kevin Andrews & Tammiee Dickenson

SCEPUR Co-Presidents
